The M.A.R.E. program was developed to partner with the Christian school movement in the Philippines. Our college has been an active member of the Association of Christian Schools International since its introduction here in the Philippines two decades ago. Our goal is to prepare Christian school professionals who not only know the appropriate laws and practices but have a strong Biblical and theological foundation to go along with their educational knowledge.
Students in this degree program take a minimum of 15 units of biblical and theological studies along with subjects of value in school leadership and classroom management. Counseling and psychology is included as well as communication skill enhancement.
Our worldview again is clearly integrated into every subject enabling the student to develop the gift of discernment—whether specific educational practices are morally and spiritually helpful as well as educationally productive. As students develop their own philosophy of Christian education they clarify their own core values and learn to make decisions based upon Biblical principles as well as pragmatic outcomes.
Our faculty include a mixture of Filipino and American professors all of whom have local ministry educational experience as well as advanced academic and professional training. Local evangelical Christian school leaders are recruited as additional resource persons and adjunct faculty.
Note: M.A.R.E. students must have completed a minimum of 12 units of Education subjects at the bachelor’s level. Those who have not met these academic prerequisites in education take an additional nine (9) ministry-related or education units at CGST.
