Masters in Theology – Major in Christian Leadership
Students in the Leadership major normally come to the graduate school with seven to ten years of ministry experience. They are looking for tools to help them lead the people in their organizations and also want further training in Biblical studies. This major raises their level of Biblical understanding with a minimum of 18 units of core Biblical and theological studies as well as relevant subjects in leadership theory, organizational behavior and organizational development. They also get further training in Communication skills that target individual and group change as well as psychology and counseling skills to help them better understand their members and constituents.
All of the leadership and skills-based subjects employ biblical integration to show where modern research and theory intersects with biblical truth. This also helps expose immoral or manipulative practices endorsed by some leadership gurus today.
Our faculty include a mixture of Filipino and American professors all of whom have local ministry leadership experience as well as advanced academic and professional training. Guest lecturers and resource persons are also recruited from among Christian businessmen and community leaders in the region.
Note: Students for M.Div. and M.A./Theology degrees must have completed a minimum of 24 units of Bible and/or Religious Studies subjects at the bachelor’s level. Students who have not met these academic prerequisites in Bible or education take an additional twelve (12) ministry-related or education units at CGST.
