Many strong leaders achieve their goals, but leave in their wake hurt and disgruntled people who have worked for them. Often the families of these strong leaders suffer and the leader sometimes burns himself out along with those around him. Emotionally Healthy Leadership (EHL) teaches key principles on how to transform your inner life first and then your organizational culture, allowing you as a leader to create an environment where your people can flourish and reach their maximum potential. EHL helps the leader maintain focus on the priorities of the organization without sacrificing the people working with him or her. By paying attention to the inner life and relationship with God, the emotionally healthy leader learns to wield power compassionately and powerfully, thus achieving the goals of the organization, strengthening those who serve in the organization and building the leader’s inner strength instead of depleting it. This class will meet April 3—8, 6 to 9 pm. The class will be taught by Dr. Jiji Harner. (1.5 units)
In our world today, there are diverse views of who Jesus is. Some people believe him to be a first century Jewish wisdom teacher. Other people see him as the Black Nazarene. Still others think he was the husband of Mary Magdalene. But what was Jesus really like? The Life of Christ is a course that draws upon the four New Testament Gospels, as the most reliable sources and as individual portraits of his life, in order to arrive at a sound answer to this question. This class will meet 6 days a week for 3 weeks, April 3—22, 8 to 11 am and will be taught by Dr. Steve Wilkinson. (3 units)
