As Filipino short-term missionaries returned home from serving in Asia, they saw the need for a mission force which would help mobilize Christians to send missionaries to the unreached peoples of the world. Filipinos make excellent fieldworkers, but there are few sending organizations.
BSOP was born in the hearts of Filipino missionaries in 2001 and soon captured the interest of other dynamic believers. The Philippine government (SEC) registered BSOP, Inc. as a non-stock, non-profit corporation in 2002. BSOP has now grown from three original field appointees in 2003 to 14 fieldworkers in 2016.
Bethlehem Star is actively searching for new fieldworkers who want to reach the world’s unreached peoples. BSOP sends gifted and experienced Filipinos to minister full-time in evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, and holistic church planting. We encourage candidates to spend a year in the field internship, testing their cross-cultural abilities. They are then appointed as long-term career BSOP members.
